FASTING BROTHERS

The priests of Sacred Heart Parish each have a group of Seven Sisters praying for them, a quiet ministry of prayer. All prayers can become more fruitful when aided with fasting. To strengthen the Seven Sisters Apostolate’s prayers, the Parish is seeking to establish a Fasting Brothers group for our priests. According to the rules established by the Apostolate, there will be six men per group, and each man has a day of the week on which they fast or abstain from something (there is no fasting on Sundays, the Lord’s Day). You choose the day best suited for you, and stay with that day every week. The commitment is for one year. If you are drawn to fasting or abstaining as a form of prayer for the benefit of our priests, please consider this joint, yet very private ministry.
